OOO – Den-O All Riders Let’s Go Kamen Riders Review

Okay, so this is the 2nd all rider team up movie and the last one came out two years ago.  I’m glad I got into toku during this time period as so much awesome stuff is happening in a short period.

First off, it was way easier to watch than the Decade All Rider movie.  Might be because I finished OOO and only saw a little of Decade.  I did not really care for the Decade story, also really did not even try to understand it.  This one was clearer from the get go.

OOO and Ankh go back in time to when Kamen Rider 1 and 2 have not yet defeated Shocker to help Den-O chase an Imagin OOO was fighting earlier.  Ankh leaves behind a Cell Medal and Shocker gets hold of it.  When they return, history has been changed; Shocker is ruler of the world and Kamen Rider 1 and 2 are working for Shocker.  It is revealed that Shocker had found a Core Medal and transformed it into a Shocker Core Medal.  Using the Cell Medal Ankh left behind, they were able to create a Shocker Greed powerful enough to defeat Kamen Rider 1 and 2.  They head back to try to prevent that future.  They even meet up with Kamen Rider 1 and 2 but through a series of events, Shocker succeeds in creating the Shocker Greed and also seemingly destroys the Den-Liner.  They make it back to the present in time but the Den-Liner explodes, preventing them from heading back.  They all get captured and are about to be executed until Kamen Rider 1 and 2 reveals they have been faking being brainwashed for 40 years, waiting for the right moment to retaliate.  That moment is now, when they saw that little kids dressed as Kamen Rider Scouts still had faith in Kamen Riders.  All 4 riders are outnumbered until all the rest show up.  They have trouble handling Shocker’s Great Leader until OOO uses the TaMashii Combo.  King Dark appears to face them until it is the true form of Shocker’s Great Leader is seen.  They riders are baffled as to how to defeat him until all the secondary riders show up to help.  They all get on their motorcycles and perform an All Rider Break and defeat Shocker’s Great Leader.    History is restored.

My Final Opinion: 5/5
  • Yes, I know it’s not the most detailed review but that’s it in a nutshell.  There’s also Wikipedia
  • I think Den-O looks and sounds frail.  I never watched the series but I did not enjoy the character.
  • Momotaros and Ankh are hilarious, especially when the former became an arm.
  • The TaMashii Combo finisher was short but sweet.
  • The real icing on the cake was the battle against Shocker’s Great Leader.  How they shot it was so amazing I can only imagine how the atmosphere was like in a theater.  My mouth was wide open the moment King Dark showed up on screen.
  • Those 4 non-Kamen Rider heroes were interesting to say the least.
Some gripes
  • The ending was disturbing.  Your friend as kid turns out to be your dad in the future.  Not cool.
  •  Kamen Rider 1 and 2 stayed in their suits for 40 years?  I guess since they are cyborgs it does not bother them.
  •  The kid who prevented the brainwashing was only a kid when Kamen Rider 1 and 2 were defeated.  He got to study, even got married and became a Shocker scientist.  But did not Shocker brainwash Kamen Rider 1 and 2 immediately after they were defeated?  So did the kid now a scientist tamper with them like 30 years later?  The movie did not give an explanation to that.
  • I still do not understand how the Den-Liner is okay.  We saw it blow up and suddenly it came back.  Same thing with the Riders from V3 to Black RX.  How are they still there?  If anyone can explain that, feel free to do so.
